The Australian International Women's Day Game Jam, organized in celebration of International Women's Day, is a month-long event accessible online via Itch.io, fostering collaboration and creativity across all States and Territories of Australia. This unique initiative, in partnership with The Array, Lead Link & Level-Up Gaming, supported by City of Palmerston and the Northern Territory Government, aims to highlight and empower women in the gaming industry, providing a platform for developers to innovate, collaborate, and showcase their talents.

In the Northern Territory, the event is taking a more localized approach through a collaboration with the City of Palmerston. This partnership will facilitate face-to-face game development workshops, offering participants the opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals. Level Up Gaming and Esports, a prominent local gaming and esports organisation, will conduct sessions aimed at fostering skills and nurturing talent in the game development sphere.

Adding to the allure of the event, two senior female figures in the video game industry will be flown into Darwin to deliver master classes. These sessions are poised to offer invaluable insights and learning opportunities, drawing from the extensive experience and accomplishments of these industry leaders.

This Game Jam stands as a beacon of inclusivity and diversity, celebrating the significant contributions of women to the gaming world. By providing educational and developmental opportunities, The Array and Lead Link aim to inspire a new generation of female game developers, promoting gender equality within the industry. The integration of both online and in-person sessions ensure a broad reach, encouraging participation from across the country and making this event a landmark occasion in support of women in gaming.
